Have you ever had a feeling of joy because of how a day went? Have you ever thought back over the last 48 hours and thought to yourself, it doesn’t get much better than this? I am thinking that right now because of the great weekend of playing and being together we had.
There wasn’t much to our weekend. We woke up on Saturday with the usual agenda, grocery shopping and errand running. But what we did while running our errands is what made the time so special. There wasn’t anything grand we did or something we’ll all remember the rest of our lives, it was just a simple trip to the shoe store to buy William new winter boots, then a trip to a new local book store where we all were able to buy new books and a stop by a toy store where we found the elusive Thomas train we had promised William since we didn’t find it before Christmas.
It was a simple Saturday that we followed up with an even simpler Sunday. I made waffles and bacon for the family, then we played most of the morning and scattered toys all over our house. While William napped I baked two dozen blueberry donuts and once he woke up from his nap we tested his new boots out with a walk and some sledding in the park around the corner.
The weekend was easy-going, relaxing and overall fantastic. I wouldn’t change a thing we did or wish we did more because it would throw off the balance we had on what I’m saying was our perfect weekend.
