On His Own

My son is becoming more independent as the days go by.  While at the park over the weekend he pushed my hand away so he could walk on his own towards the slide.  He’s almost 16 months old, I’m not ready to let go of his hand.  He’s moving so fast on his own even though it’s only been a couple weeks since he started walking.  He wants to go off and play with the other kids in the park and leave his mother and I back on the bench.  He’s growing too fast and I feel like it’s not going to slow down.

Our weekend in photos.

  1. This is just a phase. Our son now always wants us to hold him or hold his hand as we walk to a store or wherever we are going. The always wanting us to hold him is actually the most annoying part. Nothing builds muscle like a 40 pound 4 year old.

I figured he’d come back around just like he has with liking mom more than me, but now coming back to me on that front. It’s just tough as these transitions happen because I’m having to realize he’s no longer my little baby boy, but my growing son..

And the thought of having to carry him around when he’s four is not too exciting. I already struggle even though he’s 25 pounds.
